"Santiago's Weather Journal"
That was the first thing I saw in my little brother's folder. I always check his folder in the car to see what he has improved or what he needs to improve. We were coming from my piano lessons. My brother supposedly waited with my mom in the car. (I really do not think they will stay there for an entire hour)
"Ahhh! What is this?" I asked Santiago.
"Oh, it's a tornado. Do you like it?" he made his puppy face.
I didn't want to offend him (not that much) so I just forced a smile. He knew exactly what I thought. He didn't pay much attention because I always reply like that when I don't like his stuff.
I kept going through the papers. The first one had two mistakes. The easiest mistakes. I made a face of disapproval. Santiago knew I would totally tell my mom what he got. Sometimes I just love being the old one. It had a face that said "keep trying" and another one that said "STOP. Check your work." He does everything in a hurry. Every single teacher says that he is very smart and all that, but he gets distracted very easily. My mom says that if a fly goes by he would look at it with his mouth wide open and he won't finish his work. That had happened (often) at school. I don't think it was a fly, but his friends.
I kept going on and on...Every single paper had one of those two faces except for one. Finally he didn't get any faces, but a bear that said "TERRIFIC!" Finally all of our effort was shown. I also saw another improvement in his grammar. He practices "Fixing the sentence below" everyday and he get everyday some kind of mistake. Thank Goodness he finally got it all right.
"Yesssss!" I said in the car. Santiago even looked a little alarmed...
Finally! He got it ALL right! That was such an improvement. You cannot imagine how much we struggle with him in that specific problems. Really...
We finally got home. I was starving! It came out that Santiago was so calmed because he ate a cookie and a doughnut while I was in my piano lessons! My mom just bought him a cookie, but he found a friend of his in "Pan y Canela". To summarize a little, he used his charms and that girl ended up buying him a doughnut! I do admit my brother is nice and all...but that was totaly not fair! This is some other "characteristic" of him, but that's another story.
I am so happy that he finally got all right. Its hard to, not even I get all right everytime. Nice Story. Love how you are a big sister figure.
