What an Afternoon...

"Ahhhh!"

That was my mom's reaction when she saw my little brother's quiz (Santiago's). He is a very, uhm, active person. He is not doing that well at school...We are trying to help him little by little but he seems to do not understand...

Okay, I will be honest. He is having trouble with everything that requires his attention. Santiago is a very, uhm, friendly person. He makes friends everywhere and unfortunately his friends are not such a good influence. He gets distracted by them because they make him laugh. He is easily distracted and do not finishes his own work.

My mom works with him every afternoon for about three hours (three intensive hours). I sometimes feel sorry for her... I don't mean that Santiago is the worst person ever, but he does need to imporve a little.

Everyday we practice something new (notice that I used the word "we"). The stuff that we practice is what he got wrong in that day. Today was spelling. I had to say the words out loud and he would write them on a sheet of paper. That was a quiz that he had today. We did the same quiz about six times and he kept having the same wrong. My mom got tired of it and said that if he got one more wrong (she raised her voice) she will hit him.

I was bored of saying the same words out loud...I almost memorized them! Today I really worked with him and I couldn't finish my Slice of Life. Today I was busier with him. Ahh...I don't know how teachers can stand that type of students. I mean, kids that do not pay attention unless someone hits him! Finally we are done with spelling. Now we are practicing time... What a long afternoon...

I love this line "Everyday we practice something new (notice that I used the word "we").
Sorry for Santiago, but he makes for great stories.

  2. Little brothers are...difficult sometimes. I also think your right about the hitting, my dad got belted a few times, and he knew not to get in trouble. Its child abuse now, though.
